Natural Skin Care Products For peace of mind

There are two reasons your baby suffers from nappy rash. One is due to the ammonia in her nappy, which is produced by stale urine. Ammonia breaks down the protective barrier naturally formed by her skin, causing soreness, itching and in some cases, bleeding.

Nappy rash is also an infection caused by candida in your baby’s stool. Candida loves warm, moist environments and a baby’s nappy is the ideal place for this to grow.

Here are some ways to ease your baby’s discomfort:

  • Rinse her skin down with warm water and a gentle soap.
  • Try leaving her nappy off for a while to let her skin breathe.
  • Use a natural, petroleum free barrier cream to prevent further irritation.
  • Change her nappy as often as possible, hourly or after every feed or when she goes down for a sleep.

If the nappy rash is very severe you may want to consult your doctor as it could be eczema.
